The Gator Bowl Sports Bowl’d Ladies started in 2022 with the objective of growing female membership, as well as better connecting existing female members. The Bowl’d Ladies are an extension of our membership, a group of over 250 men and women who are passionate about sports and the Northeast Florida community. Our members continues to push forward the mission of our organization – to enhance and positively impact the quality of life and community pride in Jacksonville, along with generating economic impact and growth for Northeast Florida through professional and amateur sports.
The goal of the Bowl’d Ladies was to increase engagement of senior women executives in Bowl Membership, while showcasing that the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl organization is MORE than a football game.
We succeeded in our first year by not only adding 12 new Bowl’d Ladies, as well as 8 female green jacket members throughout the year. We now have over 50 female members as a part of the Gator Bowl Association!
Throughout the year, we host a number of social events around town for Bowl’d Ladies to gather, meet one another and network with one another.
In the Fall, we host two luncheons to talk the basics of college football. Last year’s inaugural College Football 101 gave an overview of the college football conferences and College Football Playoff. We also had a fantastic panel made up of Sara Pomposo, Jacksonville Business Journal Publisher; Lauren Brooks, Sports Broadcaster on 1010 XL and Susan Hamilton, the first female chairman of the Gator Bowl.
College Football 102 followed later in the fall as we dug into the post-season bowl selection process – how teams qualify for a bowl and are divided among the 43 nationwide bowl games.
